Welcome to the Surfcoast Life Activities Club
We are a group of retired & semi retired people, enjoying life by offering a range of activities that appeal to a wide range of interests. All of these have a significant social interaction element. Many of the current activities have come from new members who have a specific area of interest and then have worked with the committee to set up this interest as a new activity. If you would like to join us click here or on MEMBERSHIP menu item at the top. You can check dates and times of all of our activities by scrolling to the bottom of this page, as well as listings of "one off" events which are open to all members.
Following are recent activities and information.
Knit Whits April, 2026
What or who is a Knit Whit? No it’s not an Australian colloquialism (nit wit), it’s our clubs little known, and little talked about Activity. The ladies (and yes its open to males) of Knit Whits are very special indeed. Did you know that this group of special people knit blankets, toys, baby clothes, beanies, dish cloths, and many other items, yes, if it can be knitted it will be, Maybe this is an the activity group for you ? Over the last several years organizations such asThe Royal Children’s Hospital, The Seaman’s Mission, The Royal Women’s Hospital (and in particular prem babies), Repair Café, Geelong Mums, Cottage by the Sea and many others have benefited from what this group of special ladies have knitted. In addition, blankets and beanies also go to KOGO (Knit One Give One) who distribute knitted items to the homeless and needy throughout Australia.

The KNIT WHITS annual trading table has raised on average $1500-$2000 which is donated to the Huntington Disease Research.Knit Whits currently has 36 members who meet monthly at the Uniting Church, or in some cases Knit from home.Knit Whits are looking for some support from the club and are asking if you, or someone you know has any old, not wanted, surplus, yarn/wool they would love to take it off your hands so that they can continue their extraordinary work.
